"Shaped headlights and bonnet. Soon I will model the windshield, finish the front wheel arches, and add details to the rims." -speedpn "Wheels and rims, sized thanks @mclarenf1papa, there have also been changes to the front wheel arch which I had modeled incorrectly." -speedpn -Rear wing size also fixed "Front grid, tires, and 76" wing" -speedpn Rear wing size will soon be fixed as the Aston actually has a 60" rear wing, not a 76". "I added some small carbon fibre bits (hood vents, front latches, the vent behind the window) and made the front bumper the first piece that has 0 holes in it (except from underneath, and in the wheel well...)" -Stereo
"Second pass on Oreca wheels done. I'm not exactly sure about the width of the tires (it's based on the maximum allowed width for the LMP2's in combination with the known track width of the Oreca) but I can change that later on if it doesn't fit. Mapped, AO baked and textured the rims. I need to tweak the center stud a little bit." -Ruben
"First pass of the Oreca tire done. Doing a second pass on both the tire and rim (back side of rim is open etc.) and then i'm going hunting for some body reference pics." -Ruben
"My exterior todo list is done now, so I'm going to try exporting it to another game. Easier to check the reflections and stuff with realtime rendering and a more detailed scene. Then I guess I'll get started on the interior..." -Stereo
After receiving the CAD from Crawford Composites, our team got to work turning it into a usable 3D model. This is the first test. Stereo put it on the Viper GTD with the Porsche wing supports still attached to the wing (they're removed now). Again, thanks to David C. for the CAD.
Stereo has made some good progress on the SRT Vipers. He's currently focussing on the GTD variant. speedpn has started work on the Aston Martin Vantage GTD. "I will focus more on aston martin, so I'll try to balance the progress of the work with that of the Audi." -speedpn
Please welcome Liam Kepinski to the IER Modding Group.
Liam will be working on 3d models for various cars in the TUSCC modification. He will be able to start work sometime after April, and is currently thinking of either starting on the Riley DP, or the Oreca 03. |
